Ah, dressing up for Halloween!
Halloween is not really thing back in Venezuela, my home country. We are more carnival kind of people. Don’t get me wrong, Venezuelans will not turn down a reason to party and Halloween seems like a good an excuse as any. So there’s definitely something resembling this tradition. Still I can say with certainty this holiday doesn’t have the same charm when wearing a costume equals cooking your insides. Or if you went the slutty route—melted makeup as soon as you put it on. Yes, it’s 90 degrees year-round where I’m from.
Last year my little girl was a flower and I just wore a flowered sweater. There wasn’t much to do because of Covid, but I still wanted to dress her up. I’m trying to get in as many costumes as possible before she puts her foot down and says she wants to be a princess or a princess. This year I’m still deciding what we’ll be. I’ll have a 28 week pregnant belly then and that doesn’t sound too exciting. My husband says I can be a fishbowl though.
